A trip back home to Rockford, IL last week while my oldest was on spring break from school means sneaking in a session with these two. Their beautiful mama and I go way back and I love catching up with her and the girls while I’m in town. Mother Nature definitely kept things interesting with the rain, so the girls lucked out and scored a play break while we waited it out at Sinnissippi Park. So gorgeous. And these photos are so them.
Cheers,
Kate
First of all, I feel the need to thank Mother Nature for the unseasonably warm weather we’ve been enjoying lately. Most of us know that scheduling an outdoor engagement session on St. Patrick’s Day in Wisconsin or Minnesota is pretty hit or miss. Mostly miss. Luckily, it was beyond gorgeous for Lisa + Brian’s engagement session around Minneapolis this weekend! I had so much fun running around and laughing with these two. Lisa + Brian, thank you so much for planning an awesome afternoon and I am SO looking forward to your wedding in May!
Without further rambling, here are some of my favorites from their engagement session:

Kate
In those last few weeks of pregnancy, it’s nice to take a break from all that preparing, nesting, and list making to sneak a little maternity session in before your wee babe arrives.
Jessica, I can’t wait to meet your little man. I’m quite certain that he’s going to grow up with the best sense of humor ever. Enjoy the last 4 (2ish…) weeks, he’ll be here before you know it!
Cheers,
Kate
Spring is finally almost here and what a perfect time to freshen up your business headshots. Molly is an amazing portrait photographer here in town and I loved swooping over to her studio yesterday afternoon to take these for her. Helloooooooooo, beautiful! Business headshots are a great way to put a face with your business and really personalizes your online presence for your clients. So if you’re still rocking an outdated self portrait from 4 years ago on your website or blog, definitely put new headshots on your to do list for 2012.
Cheers,
Kate
So, remember when we had beautiful snow? I know. It’s sort of hard to remember. Thankfully, we had gorgeous snow for Lacey + Brad’s winter wedding at Florian Gardens in January. Want to know something awesome? This wedding was actually their first anniversary and they spent it celebrating their marriage with their loved ones. Erica and I had SO much fun with this group. The guys even forgave me for making them brave the cold for 15 minutes. I think. The silver and blue details were absolutely perfect for a winter wedding and Lacey even rocked out in a silver wedding dress. LOVE!
Lacey + Brad, thank you so much for inviting us to share your day with your beautiful family + friends. I’ll always remember that Brayden teared up after the ceremony from the overwhelming happiness he felt. Wishing the four of you so much joy and love ahead!
PS, the dance party at their reception really set the bar for all future dance parties. All my 2012 couples had better bring their awesome game and pack the floor like woah!
Some of my favorite images from their wedding day:

Kate
